Lawn Care in London
Some property owners have simply given up on lawn care in London and replaced it all with concrete or paving. This is an individual choice, and these surfaces can be softened by the use of plants in pots. Also, there is something lovely about a healthy, well-tended lawn.
Lawns have fallen out of favour with many for one simple reason: they are seen as too labour- and time-intensive. However, with lawn care in London from Local Gardeners we will do all the hard work for you so you can enjoy a lush, neat lawn!
Even if you are not sure what ails your lawn, we can help so that we could give a new lease of life. Whether you just need advice on what to do and how to do it, or a regular mowing and edge trimming service or a more high-care or intensive program, Local Gardeners is the company for you!
Lawn Care in London offered by Local Gardeners
Mowing: We will mow your lawn as often as it needs it which is often dependent on the weather and season. Our skilled gardeners won’t leave your lawn with too short patches.
Edging: Mowing or cutting the grass is the first step to having a lawn that looks cared for. The second and equally important aspect is edging so that the edges of the lawn that are against walls, pathways, flower beds etcetera are neat and even.
Trimming: Some sections of a lawn can’t be cut using a lawn mower. The reason is angles or features such as trees. Our gardeners will use trimmers and also hand cutters to ensure that all the sections of your lawn are professionally and carefully trimmed.
Feeding: Grass, just like all living things, also needs food or nutrients to survive and flourish. This is especially the case during the growing seasons of spring and summer. To keep your lawn in tip-top condition it needs to be fed the correct fertilisers, in the correct amounts and finally at the right times. We handle all this for you.
Aeration: Aeration alleviates soil compaction and allows the proper circulation of air, water and nutrients within the soil. Aeration involves perforating the soil with small holes through which water, nutrients and air can also reach the roots. These holes can be made manually or with special spiked rollers.
Scarification: Over time lawns collect what is called lawn-thatch. This is a layer of dead grass, other debris and even moss that prevents water etcetera reaching the roots and new lawn growth from getting through. A rake can remove this thatch to promote lawn health. The lawn often looks rough and patchy afterwards but the benefits are significant.
Top-dressing: This is a very useful service in the event that a lawn is uneven or the grass is growing in an uneven or patchy way. With soil spread over the lawn we address these issues. It may not look great at the outset but the results are well worth it.
